HI! Have you considered leave-in conditioners? Those always help me maintain moisture throughout the entire day. Also try curling gels and spritzers; they seals my ends and prevents them from drying out. In addition, if you’d tried every product and every method try keeping a mini hair spray bottle filled with water. Then throughout the day, if you feel those ends crinkling just spray some water for guaranteed moisture retention.
Exercise – Try to exercise at least 30 minutes a day, three times a week – it can even be split up into 10 minute walks. The effects of brief physical exertion last much longer than those of caffeine, and exercise decreases stress rather than increasing it! Finding a physical activity that you really like to do will make exercise more fun and something to look forward to as well as help to keep you healthy throughout life. So try something new or something that has always appealed to you.

Slow down and savor your food. Don't watch TV, work, or drive while you're eating. "A lot of people tell me, 'My problem is that I really like food,' but I think that's a really good thing," Williams says. "If you really enjoy food, sit down and enjoy your meal. You're much more likely to feel psychologically satisfied if you don't multitask while you're eating." 

Hey Kate. Im 16 and I’ve been transitioning since April 2013. The back of my hair is natural but the front still has some relaxed ends. I get braids & leave them in for 2 or 3 months. & I oil my scalp 2 twice a Week. When I take my hair out I usually get blowouts at a Dominican salon & have them cut off some of my ends. Or rather, I found the fact that people have flocked to them as proof that couples shouldn’t live together before marriage very troubling. It just isn’t practical or reasonable to state that living together before marriage wouldn’t give a couple some advantages. I’ll go so far as to say that not living together before marriage is dangerous (I’ll get to that later). It doesn’t matter how much time you spend with a partner—you don’t know what it’s like to live together until you live together. Some couples will say, “Well we practically live together.” No—you don’t. You always have your own place to escape to and the knowledge that you have that place. That changes everything. I’d like to dispute the dangerous belief that couples shouldn’t live together until marriage. Sure, couples who live together first are at higher risk of divorce, but I don’t think it has much to do with living together. Here are the actual probable causes.
2. SHAMPOO MINDFULLY. Yes, you still need to shampoo regularly to keep your scalp and hair clean- but you can lengthen the time between washes to 2, 3, or even 4 weeks. Avoid shampoos that contain sulfates or any of these other harmful ingredients, and opt for a mild, sulfate-free shampoo like this Cleansing Avocado Shampoo. If your hair gets dirty more often, alternate shampoo with cowash or follow shampoo with an apple cider vinegar rinse. Wash your hair in sections to prevent tangles.

"Healthy living" to most people means both physical and mental health are in balance or functioning well together in a person. In many instances, physical and mental health are closely linked, so that a change (good or bad) in one directly affects the other. Consequently, some of the tips will include suggestions for emotional and mental "healthy living."
I wear my hair in cornrows everyday with a wig on top. I will spray Carol’s Daughter hair milk refresher spray on my hair then apply any moisturizing creme I may have to give it moisture. Those cremes could be Cantu leave in conditioner, Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla hair sheen, Kera Care Butter Cream, or Cantu’s Tea Tree & Jojoba hair & scalp oil.
What I have learned about my hair so far is that my hair NEEDS a lot of moisture. I tried a few products and have found that Shea Moisture makes my hair feel really dry and brittle like, Carol’s Daughter is ok, I thought it was great until I tried Cantu’s products. Cantu is WONDERFUL! Originally, the thought of not washing my hair and simply co-washing seemed nasty and unclean. Now, I LOVE to co-wash, especially with Cantu. I have also learned if I do not wash my hair at least once a week my hair will fall out VERY BADLY. When I say bad I mean it looks like I am standing on a hair rug in the shower. It is everywhere, on the walls, on the shower curtain, on my face, on my shoulders and other body parts, it is a mess. That is when I tried to co-wash and I washed my hair every 2-3 days and bam very very little shedding. I also use the leave in conditioner. I did not know that product is not supposed to remain white on your hair after application. This too let me know that I have low porosity hair. Side note: my hair is extremely thick, so the extreme shedding is not noticeable what-so-ever.
The great ability of a twa is that the style within itself is a protective style. The hairs are tightly together packed down and the hair is not brushing the shoulders. So in essence, a TWA is a protective style within itself. The idea is to be sure to protect your hair at night and keep it moisturized and supple and using protein when you need to. You didn’t mention protein. How are you incorporating protein into your regimen.
For those of you just starting out on the natural hair care journey, you are bound to see “No ‘Poo” everywhere you go. Don’t worry, it does NOT have anything to do with your bowels. It’s a short term for “No Shampoo.” The most common approach to No ‘Poo is using baking soda for washing and an apple cider vinegar rinse. I personally do not like this method as the baking soda was so harsh on my scalp. I later learned that it’s because it’s not in line with our scalp’s natural pH. That’s why I created my pH Balanced Shampoo recipe. Some people, however, LOVE the baking soda method… and I say, “If’ it’s not broke, don’t fix it.”  If you still haven’t found the best method for you, stick with me. I have lots of ideas in the second part of this post.

Long-term maintenance of the lost body weight can be described as a success. Although meal replacement has beneficial effects on weight loss, it cannot guarantee weight maintenance. Healthy diets recommend low carbohydrate, low GI, and moderate fat foods, but it is not clear whether they are useful in preventing weight gain. It seems that consuming fewer calories helps people to maintain the weight loss. Some special behaviors are also associated with better weight loss maintenance. Consuming a lower amount of sugar sweetened beverages, not being awake late at night, and consuming more healthy foods are some examples of such behaviors. No special food can definitely promote weight maintenance. Therefore, there is a necessity to develop further research to find strategies in obesity management, focusing on the successful maintenance of weight loss.

A very good read. I think you hit the nail on the head and perhaps a few people’s fingers with your comments. USA has about 5% of the world’s population yet issues about 50% of all medical prescriptions worldwide. Common sense would tell us that the more people are well the less the need for public health, medicines and health facilities. An inverse relationship exists which implies an impressive health bill an indication of sickness not wellness. Public health can only be realistically addressed by governments acting in the public’s interest. The amount of money paid to political parties by lobbyists is very tiny compared to the money paid by the health budget and tax payer. Corporations need a cultural shift and to be aware of the growing dissatisfaction by health advocates trying to protect the general public.

Priority chemicals such as propyl-paraben, butyl-paraben, phthalates, formaldehyde, formaldehyde-donors, or nonylphenol ethoxylates (NPEs). To truly understand the formulation and the chemicals therein, we also expect full ingredient transparency so we can screen them. This means that generic ingredients like fragrance either need to be natural or have their sub-ingredients listed.
Hi there – I would recommend using a clarifying shampoo to remove product buildup if any. Follow up with a moisturizing deep conditioner. From there, every 1-2 days, use the LOC or LOC method to moisturize your hair (try both to see which one works best for your hair). Wash your hair with a gentle shampoo and use a moisturizing deep conditioner every week. Follow the directions on the packaging. Avoid silicones. Examine your ends every 6-8 weeks and trim if needed. Use a gentle clarifying shampoo once a month or so. There is so much info out there about various routines, but this is a simple start that you can add to and adjust as you go. Keeping a journal to track what works and what doesn’t is great advice. Best of luck!
Taking out hair extensions isn’t as simple as just pulling them out, since they may have compromised fragile, natural hair while you wore them. “Extensions can be drying to the hair because of the harsh chemicals used to manufacture and color them,” says Prestonia. She recommends deep-conditioning your hair as soon as you remove them. It’ll be worth the extra time in your routine.
Regular exercise can prevent and reverse age-related decreases in muscle mass and strength, improve balance, flexibility, and endurance, and decrease the risk of falls in the elderly. Regular exercise can help prevent coronary heart disease, stroke, diabetes, obesity, and high blood pressure. Regular, weight-bearing exercise can also help prevent osteoporosis by building bone strength.
Ah, the ultimate Catch-22: If your hair is greasy, experts will tell you to stop washing it daily. But (depending on your texture, of course) if you don’t wash it daily, it gets…greasy. So what’s a girl to do? Dry shampoo. This one is an all-natural and surprisingly simple blend of four starches — arrowroot and rice powder, kaolin clay, and baking soda — plus two essential oils (rose geranium and palmarosaa) for a light, blossomy scent. The sprinkle-on formula takes a little getting used to, though the non-aerosol delivery system is less potentially harmful to your lungs.
You mentioned breakage. Aside from the breakage from weaves and braids, they are probably experiencing breakage at the line of demarcation (were the relaxer meets the natural hair). This is definitely one of the weakest points of the hair during transitioning. If this is the case, I would definitely suggest deciding whether you prefer to wear your hair straight or wear it curly. This will help minimize the stress that is put on maintaining more than one type of hair on the head. Also, keep the hair conditioned as much as possible.
Be wary of the lattes at your local coffee shop, as they're often loaded with extra sugar and empty calories. Pure coffee beans contain powerful health-boosting antioxidants. Don't erase these benefits with a waistline expanding helping of whole milk and added sugar. Opt for regular coffee and add a splash of your own cream and zero-calorie sweetener—or try to drink it black.
Hair growth occurs in cycles consisting of four phases: Anagen (growth phase), Catagen (transitional phase), Telogen (resting phase) and Exogen (shedding phase). Hair grows at different rates for different people; the average rate is around one-half inch per month. Due to a short active growth phase, some people have difficulty growing their hair beyond a certain length.
When I was in the military, I was relaxed. However, my hair was quite long and I kept it in a sock bun, flat bun and I wore braids. it was definitely something that was friendly to wearing my cover. However, I would definitely suggest taking a look at women who have longer and shorter hair and observe how their hair is kept/styled. Be sure to look at all races, not just one.
Damage to the hair must be trimmed away or grown out. For example, there is not a permanent cure for split-ends. There are some conditioners that can essentially patch split-ends and make them less visible, but over a period of time those split-ends will reappear. The only way to permanently get rid of your split-ends is to trim them away. You should absolutely never burn away your split-ends.
In another study, obese adults were assigned to Medifast's meal replacement (low fat, low GI, with a balanced ratio of CHO/Pro) (MD) or a self-selected, isocaloric, food-based meal plan for weight loss and weight maintenance. The amount of weight regain was more in the MD group, but the percentage of participants who kept up their weight in this group was more than in the other group.[15]
